- Sensibility: The film is full of miraculous survivals and strange choices from villain characters that make it hard to suspend disbelief.
- Cinematography: Unfortunately, the film has almost nothing of merit visually. Lackluster, monotone lighting, mediocre costuming, ill-fitting production design, and, worst of all,
derivative, copy-right free sounding music.
- Energy: A winding story and little in the way of music or visuals can make this film a bit of a chore. Add on top of this some rather poor performances from side-characters and
the film can be unbearable at times.
- Narrative: The dialogue is probably the largest issue, with some modern phrases sneaking into the "old-timey" parlance. The film does have some interesting bits around
race, but the issues heavily outweigh the merits. A bit about the prostitutes kid and pregnancy are completely irrelevant to the story as a whole.
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for a speech about "negritude
For every good Western there are 10 bad ones. This one unfortunately fits the latter. A messy story with anachronistic dialogue and very little to offer artistically.
