- Sensibility: Tragically, painfully sensible. Only thing that creates questions is Lucas's unbounded patience, but even this aspect of his character is consistent throughout the story.
- Cinematography: Beautifully shot. Great use of lighting and production design to demonstrate the downward spiral of Lucas's life and the discrepancies over the holidays. So many beautiful sequences littered throughout.
- Energy: Gut-wrenching tragic watch. The escalation of the narrative is so thoughtful and well paced that there's never a moment's relief for Lucas or the viewer.
- Narrative: Incredible story. Beautiful pairing of the literal and metaphorical hunts. Dialogue is excellent and Lucas's character is very well defined throughout the film. The story is haunting and stays with you well after
the film is over.
- T-Points: The film received five bonus points: one for a manipulative line of questioning, one for a horrifying scene in a grocery story, one for an unforgettable Christmas eve church service, one for a harrowing ending, and one for the presence of so many incredible details which give the characters so much life (Fanny barking at Kirsten and Klara's problems with lines).
Perfection. This movie is a jaw-dropping pairing of story, performance, and visuals. The story is so real and the energy of the film is so palpable that I still feel the weight of the film day's after
seeing it.
