- Sensibility: Some of the nonsense bits scattered throughout the first three quarters are explained with the reveal in the end, but many issues, like Max's work, his childhood, markings, many of the conversations between characters, and a bit with a painting are all ridiculous.
- Cinematography: The film has little redeeming value in production design and costuming, giving off a very low budget feel throughout the majority of the film. However, this sort of plays into the big reveal in the end of the narrative.
- Energy: The first three quarters of this film are borderline unbearable, with terrible dialogue and unforgivable tropes, but the ending redeems the film a bit.
- Narrative: It's a mashup of all the clichés in the major horror films of the past few decades: haunted place, creepy old people, vague spirituality, blood, and gore. The narrative is all building towards a grand reveal at the end, but this build-up is so poorly written and orchestrated that it isn't worth the wait. The dialogue is corny and uninteresting and the premise of the story is weak and non-sensical by the end.
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for a very unforgiving shot of a needle going into an eye.
Roller-coaster for the film and the viewer, but it just takes way too long to get interesting. The film feels, and probably was, written with the ending in mind first and the rest of the film just filler to arrive at that point. However, not the worst horror
film I've seen by a long shot.
