- Sensibility: The quick changes in love and marriage may seem a bit off, but otherwise this film is extremely sensible.
- Cinematography: Top-tier costuming and production design which are displayed beautifully by excellent framing and lighting.
However, the most excellent part of the film by far is the score; the music is unforgettable.
- Energy: It's a classic story told to near perfection. Only lull is right before Lady Catherine comes to visit, where the back-and-forth fussing from the mother grows a bit stale.
- Narrative: It's a great story done justice by this wonderful film. The only part of the film that feels a bit off is the moment where Elizabeth goes to visit Mr. Darcy's residence and then
leaves upon realizing he is there; it feels like there is some nuance in the novel that is not represented by the film.
- T-Points: The film received three bonus points: one for an excellent focus change on a shot in a church when Mr. Darcy glances Elizabeth's way, one for a great time-lapse shot through a mirror, and
one for a great moment between Elizabeth and her father, acted brilliantly by the great Donald Sutherland, where he agrees to give her away.
Great classic film. Glad I had the pleasure of enjoying it in theaters for the 20th anniversary.
