- Sensibility: Some of the moments with the daughter and moments between the players and Beane feel a bit forced, but otherwise this true story is very sensibly portrayed.
- Cinematography: Beautifully shot and paired with a great score that really kicks the emotion up a notch. Production design is great and the interplay of real and film footage is near perfect. A couple of noticeable sound design issues detract a little from some of the calmer moments, but otherwise visually stunning film with so much going for it.
- Energy: Tempo is excellent, great paired pacing between the highlights and low-lights of the team. Only negative is some of the stuff off the field feels unnecessary.
- Narrative: An incredible true story told brilliantly. The film doesn't pull any punches and gives credit where it is due. Few films can capture a character and a storyline with such efficiency.
- T-Points: The film received two bonus points: one for a moment where Beane grunts after a phone call with Pete and one for Brad Pitt's overall incredible portrayal of Billy Beane.
One of the best sports films I've ever seen, and it isn't really about athleticism. It's pretty brilliant how this film takes something fairly dry and pedantic like statistics and makes it unforgettable.
