- Sensibility: A few moments are stretched for dramatic effect, like a bit with some documents in the rain, but not to an extremely bothersome extent.
- Cinematography: Masterclass in visual storytelling. Camera placement and lighting are top-notch. The weather and locations throughout this film are visually stunning and give the film a realism and a noir energy that is unforgettable.
- Energy: Great watch with only a few small hitches with some repetition in the investigation. However, these bumps fit well with the story, exaggerating the difficulties in solving the case and mirroring the detectives rehashing old ideas and repetitive behaviors.
- Narrative: The story is a crime drama unlike any other. There is a great set of intersecting character arcs between the detectives that gives the story a realism and helps escalate the energy and pressures involved with finding the serial killer. The two main detectives converge and then exchange character traits in development in a brilliant way. These character changes transcend the story applying broad lessons about mankind's tendencies. The ending and resolution also give the film a haunting and important message.
- T-Points: The film received five bonus points: one for a shot of an arrest from a side-mirror on a car, one of a quick shot of shoes after an amputation, one for a fight sequence on train tracks, one for a haunting ending shot, and one for the unforgiving use of rain throughout.
Near perfect combination of masterful visual craft and brilliant narrative. There is so much packed into this film that I think I could get something new from it with each watch.
