- S: In hindsight, it looks as though the main character didn't try as hard at her goal as she probably should have, but the metaphorical layer to the film helps get past this.
- C: Many memorable shots and scenes. The cartoon element seemed a bit lacking to me, especially relative to the incredible beauty the film
captures with live-action.
- E: Touching story that doesn't lose energy. This film is the absolute perfect, Goldilocks length: not too short and not too long.
- N: There is a heavy metaphorical layer playing throughout the film which uses some interesting, novel sci-fi concepts to capture the complicated process of grief. The story itself is the
highlight of the film.
- T: The film received three bonus points: one for the best story about grief I have yet to see, one for a shocking scene involving a chainsaw, and one for the disappearances along the path.
The French know how to make a movie. Makes me wish I knew French.
