- S: A few features of the reality this film takes place in are too much of a stretch for the imagination; the Dr's presence, the Doomsday Machine,
- C: Far and away the highlight of the film. The shot placement, framing, and lighting of each scene add incredible depth to the character's and story. Of particular note are the still closeup of General Jack Ripper and the end sequence of bombs.
- E: Fast pacing and interesting dialogue help, but some of the comedic bits are comedic or far-fetched and distract from the film.
- N: Conceptually quite strong and relevant to the time of release and to today. Only weakness in my mind are the Russian ambassador and Dr. Strangelove characters which feel over-done
relative to the comedic nuance of the rest of the film.
- T: The film received a bonus point for Sterling Hayden and George C. Scotts' excellent performances.
Pretty good, but not my favorite Kubrick by a long shot. Some of the comedy feels a bit extreme or over-done, but lots of things in this film are excellent.
