- S: The lack of Greek retaliation and Jack's intermittent relationship with his children make for some strange scenes in the film, but otherwise fairly reasonable given the nature of the story.
- C: The film has some surprisingly good with some surprisingly bad. A tropical shot near the beginning is so badly lit it is glaring, literally and figuratively, but then
there are some great shots where the real events/photos are blended into the film's progressing narrative. A terrible prop fixer
upper house is contrasted by a great sequence of shots filmed from below the tables' edge. Costuming is also fairly good and simple, but sound design is a bit messy.
- E: The group of literal (and figurative bad actors) make this a hard watch.
Kevin Spacey is good, but his talent is off-putting relative to the rather poor side characters.
Messy dialogue performed poorly makes for some awkward scenes.
- N: The story is probably the strongest part of this film, but the clunky dialogue and plethora of unnecessary scenes drag down what is a very interesting true story.
The nuance of the financial crimes is over-explained but still confusing.
- T: The film receives one bonus point for a great set of shots from below the edge of table.
Sometimes you have to watch a bad film to remember what makes a good film good. Put this next to a great movie and you can see where the cracks show.
It's a shame this very interesting true story isn't done justice by this disappointing movie.
